Special education today demands a new system of leadership. Are you ready to be a leader in the field? With high incidents of students with trauma and social and emotional challenges, school systems and child care agencies need specially-prepared experts to create systems of intervention to restore social and academic functioning to students. This program is designed to meet that need by providing you with innovative professional development in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).

College of Health Science

MS in Healthcare Administration

Make a difference with your education. The MS in Healthcare Administration prepares students to plan, direct, and oversee medical care and services. Two concentrations are available. Long-term care management is suited for those looking to work as administrators in skilled health care facilities or assisted living and residential care facilities. Home and community-based care prepares students for positions in hospice organizations, home health care agencies, and a variety of other outpatient care centers.

Students will generally complete the program in over two years (6 semesters, including summers) with a mix of courses that are accelerated and full semester.

MS in Aging Studies

The Master of Science in Aging Studies addresses the needs of traditional, non-traditional, and post-professional students who want to enhance their knowledge of aging populations and develop key skills needed for working with older adults. Doctor of Health Sciences

Work interprofessionally with students from multiple health related professions to gain advanced knowledge and skills to positively impact health practices in today’s complex societies. Interested individuals must have at least two years experience in a health related field.

Doctor of Nursing Practice

Become an expert in the integration of nursing science and clinical reasoning to design, implement, manage, and evaluate complex patient, organizational, environmental, and system issues. This post-master’s program equips students for the highest level of nursing practice, leading quality improvement and influencing healthcare policy at the system level, while applying scientific research and evidence-based knowledge to clinical practice. While courses are all online, each semester begins with a two-day on-campus session to help maintain connections with faculty and peers.

Our program offers two pathways from which to choose that will equip you for the highest level of nursing practice leadership.

  • DNP - Post MSN: For the nurse that has a Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN).
  • DNP - Executive: For the BSN nurse that does not have an MSN, but has a Master’s degree in ANY subject matter.

The Nurse Educator certificate gives you additional training in the skills needed to present and manage clinical education programs. Through these courses, you'll learn to:

  • Use principles of adult learning in clinical education programs
  • Prepare and present clinical education programs that are culturally sensitive and use best educational practices in order to upgrade clinical expertise in patient care settings
  • Plan, budget for, and deliver educational programs, conferences and symposia designed to improve nursing knowledge in the clinical area
  • Identify and analyze issues that may arise between clinical nursing practice and nursing education, and provide leadership that incorporates caring attributes in resolving differences
  • Develop measurable behavioral objectives and competency statements for clinical education programs
