Offering both career enhancement programs for current teachers and transition to teaching programs
Thinking about changing careers and becoming a teacher? Students with an undergraduate degree in a content area taught in secondary schools can start a teaching career in less than two years with this master's program. It's designed for busy, career-changing adults who need to balance work, school, and family obligations. In order to ensure students are fully prepared for teaching, field experiences and student teaching are incorporated from the first year. Cohort-based learning allows students to share a common learning experience with other cohort members, while at the same time learning from each other's diverse backgrounds.
The School Leadership & Management degree is an interdisciplinary program between the University of Indianapolis School of Business and School of Education. The program combines best practices in business management and education leadership to prepare aspiring leaders to bring schools up to world-class levels. Graduates will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to lead substantive and innovative systems of change with rigorous pairings of business skills and decision-making in an educational leadership environment.
Special education today demands a new system of leadership. Are you ready to be a leader in the field? With high incidents of students with trauma and social and emotional challenges, school systems and child care agencies need specially-prepared experts to create systems of intervention to restore social and academic functioning to students. This program is designed to meet that need by providing you with innovative professional development in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
